Asian Bloggers & Social Media 2010 Conference

Wow, I was amazed when the company that I’m working with Holiday Villa Hotels & Resorts, decided to send me to the Asian Bloggers & Social Media 2010 Conference which was hosted at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel. Weeks ago, I set up their own blog site which can be accessed here, Holiday Villa Blog, and started uploading a few articles on places where their hotels are located.

This event was organized by My Events, you can add yourself and follow them on their facebook page.

My favourite speech of the day was by Mr Tony Fernandes of AirAsia Malaysia. He was spontaneous and witty. Very informative and he really had to struggle to come up in life. Today eventhough he is damn famous, he is very down to earth. Those working under him must really have alot of fun at work.

The speech by Tun Mahathir was also very informative, only that he was talking alot towards politics, which is not my cup of tea. Other than that, he touched topics of Freedom of speech, which Malaysian can only gain through their own blogs because Media will surely, even though not many know this, tell the audience what they want them to hear. He also warned that even though there is freedom of speech, we will still have to be responsible on what we say, especially when condemning someone as they might sue you in return.

Two famous bloggers who are top here in Malaysia also gave their reviews on blogging. First was Ahmad Nazuwan from BeautifulNara.com whose blog speaks about the gossips of celebrity in Malaysia. He basically writes in Malay and I’m hoping that one day, he would write about me in his famous blog, BeautifulNara.com. Also gave her speech was Joyce Wong who writes about her lifestyle and living in Malaysia. She has written alot of post on advertisers in Malaysia and her blog can be accessed at KinkyBlueFairy.net.

Also there was Paul Moss of Media Prima Berhad Malaysia. He gave an insight on online television and that they will be launching a new online experience on the 6th of August 2010, make sure you catch that.

Other than that, Berjaya Times Square Hotel hosted a great lunch, everything was tasty. Looking forward to tomorrows event which will feature Kenny Sia of KennySia.com and Niki Cheong of NikiCheong.com, who are also famous bloggers in Malaysia.
