Asian Bloggers & Social Media 2010 Conference

Wow, I was amazed when the company that I’m working with Holiday Villa Hotels & Resorts, decided to send me to the Asian Bloggers & Social Media 2010 Conference which was hosted at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel. Weeks ago, I set up their own blog site which can be accessed here, Holiday Villa Blog, and started uploading a few articles on places where their hotels are located.

This event was organized by My Events, you can add yourself and follow them on their facebook page.

My favourite speech of the day was by Mr Tony Fernandes of AirAsia Malaysia. He was spontaneous and witty. Very informative and he really had to struggle to come up in life. Today eventhough he is damn famous, he is very down to earth. Those working under him must really have alot of fun at work.

The speech by Tun Mahathir was also very informative, only that he was talking alot towards politics, which is not my cup of tea. Other than that, he touched topics of Freedom of speech, which Malaysian can only gain through their own blogs because Media will surely, even though not many know this, tell the audience what they want them to hear. He also warned that even though there is freedom of speech, we will still have to be responsible on what we say, especially when condemning someone as they might sue you in return.

Two famous bloggers who are top here in Malaysia also gave their reviews on blogging. First was Ahmad Nazuwan from BeautifulNara.com whose blog speaks about the gossips of celebrity in Malaysia. He basically writes in Malay and I’m hoping that one day, he would write about me in his famous blog, BeautifulNara.com. Also gave her speech was Joyce Wong who writes about her lifestyle and living in Malaysia. She has written alot of post on advertisers in Malaysia and her blog can be accessed at KinkyBlueFairy.net.

Also there was Paul Moss of Media Prima Berhad Malaysia. He gave an insight on online television and that they will be launching a new online experience on the 6th of August 2010, make sure you catch that.

Other than that, Berjaya Times Square Hotel hosted a great lunch, everything was tasty. Looking forward to tomorrows event which will feature Kenny Sia of KennySia.com and Niki Cheong of NikiCheong.com, who are also famous bloggers in Malaysia.

Is anyone registered for any survey website that are out there? I have been registered to www.mysurvey.com.my for quite sometime now. Every survey I complete gains me some points. U usually receive at least a few points even if you’re not eligible for it. There were a few electronic and computer survey that I managed to complete right till the end and this gave me hundreds of points.

For every points that is accumulated, we can redeem coupons or vouchers. Those company who are registered with MySurvey Malaysia are Petronas, MPH, Isetan, KFC and many more.

I managed to collect up to 1600 points. For every 500 points, you can exchange to a RM10 coupon on any of the listed company above. A month ago, I decided to claim for the Petronas coupon. I claimed for 2 pieces of RM10 Petronas coupons.

After a long wait, finally the Petronas Coupons arrived from MySurvey Malaysia. I’m planning to give them to my mum who has been driving me to and fro the Klang Bus Station.

Most if the top list seems to be talking about boring topics such as their college life, comparison about women and men, comparing things like mobile phone service provider and so on. Most probably these people already have a great list of reader database that NANGs them so often.

Tweetering - Sponsored Tweet

SponsoredTweets referral badge

Finally I managed to get the 100 followers target. I will be now registering for sponsoredtweet which is a program that allows sponsors to advertise on your tweet and gain you some cash. You will be allocating a price for your tweets, and based on what you tweet about, the sponsors will send you a request. If you accept and they like what you’re going to tweet about the, you will receive the allocated or agreed amount.

I’m currently using the link that My friend sent for registering the sponsoredtweet. After clicking the “SignUp Now” link, you will see the following screen for your confirmation in allowing to connect with the application.

After allowing the application to access your tweeter account, you will then need to select whether you’re a tweeter or an advertiser. After that you will need to allocate the charge per tweet that you are interested in, at the moment the minimum is set at USD1. You will also need to fill up some details as in the photo below. You may also insert the person’s ID who recommended you to this application. Don’t forget to read the clause at the bottom which states that you can only register for this application only if your tweeter account is at least 2 months old and that you currently have at least 100 followers.

If your tweet does not reach a $1.50 CPC, it will be re-tweeted 48 hours later. You will be paid for this tweet as soon as it reaches a $1.50 CPC, or 2 hours after it is tweeted 3 times. You will still be paid the initial offer amount for all offers, but with this option enabled, you will be much more attractive to advertisers.

My tags that I’m using at the moment are as follows:

business, marketing, technology, gadgets, phone, affiliate, information technology
