Chili’s Grill & Bar Restaurant @ Empire Gallery, Subang Jaya
Early September, I received a call from a ex-classmate of mine and he was inviting me to a gathering of our primary school mates from Sekolah Kebangsaan Kapar. I grew up from a town named Kapar, it’s quite a isolated town in Klang, but now is slowly developing. I was seriously happy to have the chance to meet the bunch of people that I grew up with, some of which we’ve not met for 16 years. As per majority suggestion, we decided to have the gathering at Empire Gallery Subang Jaya. Chili’s Grill & Bar Restaurant was our first selection.
This was my first time at the Chili’s Grill & Bar Restaurant at Empire Gallery, Subang Jaya. I’ve been to their other branches in Mid Valley Mega Mall and KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. One thing that you’ve got to know about the Chili’s Restaurant is that they are very famous that they are packed most of the time, so do expect some waiting time. We waited for about 30 minutes before there was place to seat the 10 of us. Chilis Grill & Bar Restaurant do not allow advance reservations, so you’ll have no choice but to wait for your turn or go during the non-peak hours (during the late afternoon).
Just a word of advice, when you order at Chili’s Grill & Bar Restaurant, you’ll be better off ordering the meals and sharing them with your friends. Order a starters, a main meal, a dessert and share them, that way you’ll get to taste all their meals. We made a mistake by ordering individual sets and ended up forcing ourselves to finish it.
Before I start with the food, let me tell you about the drinks. Chili’s Grill & Bar Restaurant have many types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. What I like about the the most is the bottomless drinks where you order one glass for a maximum of RM8.95 and you’ll get a freeflow of your choice of drinks. Fruit Juices (Apple, Green Guava, Mango, Orange, Pineapple & Tomato), carbonated drinks (CocaCola, Coke, Sarsi, 100Plus, Sprite, Ice Lemon Tea), Hot Coffee or Tea, Milo, Espresso, Cappuccino, Lemonade and Grapeade. My personal record on the refills are 7 times, but that night I could only do 5.
As for their food, their beef steaks are the best. But that night, I decided to order the OldTimer Burger which is a mouthwatering burger with mustard, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickle & onion. This cost only RM22.45. There was an order of Quesadillas too and based on previous experience, their Southwestern Quesadillas are the best where it comes with Fajita-marinated chicken with grilled onions and Jack cheese in tortillas. Served with sour cream and house-made pico de gallo.
There was also an order of Country Fried Chicken, personally I’ve not tried this yet, but based on Lee who ordered this dish, he mentioned that it comes with tasty Mashed Potatoes. The Country Fried Chicken basically is a Chicken breast hand-battered & fried, served with mashed potatoes with black pepper gravy, sweet corn on the cob & garlic toast. Next up was their Monterey Chicken where a Marinated, grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce, beef bacon, cheese & diced tomatoes. Served with mashed potatoes with black pepper gravy & seasonal veggies. The Country Fried Chicken was at RM26.95 and the Monterey Chicken was at RM27.95.
I only managed to take a few of our dishes photos as we were already hungry of waiting for the food. Our total bill came to RM435.10 which was fairly ok for 10 people. Chili’s Grill & Bar Restaurant have always been my favourite Grill restaurant and I’ll surely go visit them again.
