Cousin Sister Wedding
Last sunday was my cousin sister’s wedding, she’s the eldest cousin on my mum’s side. It was held at the Perumal Temple in Klang. Perumal is one of the Indian God, I don’t know much about this, anyways the function was to start at 7am. We woke up at 5.30am just to take turns at the shower. We had to leave home at around 6.30am.
It was still slightly dark when we arrived at the temple. There were some prayers going on, I guess it’s the usualy morning prayers. The bride and groom arrive slightly late that morning. We only started around 8am.
One reason I don’t enjoy Indian wedding is that My mum will start going around mingling with everyone, trying to find a girl who is suitable for me. Well, it’s not that I dont have to capability to seek for my own lifepartner, it’s just that I’m not currently interested in a relationship. The wedding itself was interesting, there were alot of procedures that was involved. There was this Indian Priest who chanted prayers and the bride and groom had to follow certain specific instructions.
- Perumal Temple
- Perumal Temple
- Perumal Temple
- The Always Gorgeous Christine
- Bala’s Family and Mum
- Mum with Vijay
- Mum, her sister and myself
- Preparation before the wedding
- All getting ready
- Flowers to start with
- Some Prayers and Blessings
- Home Sweet Home
The “Thali”, which is the yellow string that is tied around the bride’s neck to represent that they are both married is send around to the visitors so that they can bless it. After which each one of them will take some yellow rice in their hand.
The priest then called for the “Time to tie the knot” chant, the musicians start playing a fast paced music, followed by the Thali being tied, and the visitors will then throw the rice collected earlier towards the bride and bridegroom to bless them. I thought that Indian weddings are quite complicated, but hours there, it seems pretty simple and straight Cialis Soft forward.
I guess my day will come sooner or later. But I have a different plan in mind compared to a simple Temple wedding.
