Japanese Buffet at Corus Hotel
Before I start writing this blog, I need to emphasize on the following disclaimer due to a new company’s Blogging and Social Media policy.
Eventhough this blog is about company outting and a farewell for a fellow colleague, This post is purely my opinion and nothing to do with the company that I currently work with. If the Management find this blog not suitable, comment below and we will have this post removed.
A colleague of us, namely Kak Su is leaving the company end of this month. She has been working with us for a total of 10 years or so. In order to celebrate, or rather appreciate her services with us, fellow colleague decided to organise an outting. After many votes, we agreed with Japanese Buffet Dinner at Corus Hotel.
We left office sharp at 6pm, car pooling to the location which is on Jalan Ampang. The Corus Hotel is located right beside Avenue K and opposite of the KLCC twin towers. They have a car park at the basement so it was quite easy parking the car (We only had to pay RM6 for parking).
As soon as we got to the Japanese Restaurant, which was named Komura, we were sitted in a private room. There were 13 of us and this room perfectly managed to fit all of us. The environment is very similar to a japanese house, there was a path way with pebbles, and the rooms are surrounded with bamboo sort of material. Very Japanese. Even the staffs are dressed in Kimonos.
This buffet is not the type where you get to go and pick what food you want, you’ll have to order and they will send it to you. But we were warned in advanced that any food that we wasted, will be weighed and we had to pay for it. I think there’s a charge for every 100grams that we wasted. So we were very picky in what we selected.
The first few dishes were salmon and mackerel fishes. It was sushi so they were not cooked. There were also baby octopus and squid, which were also raw. My favourite were the tepanyaki beef, well cooked and tasty. The sushi rools were good too. If you’re a good eater, I bet you will enjoy this Japanese Buffet at Corus Hotel. There are also fruits and Ice Cream available, we had the green tea ice cream.
After stuffing ourselves with Japanese delicacies, we started taking some photographs around the restaurant. Well, I’ll probably rate this restaurant a 8/10 for decoration, a 9/10 for customer service and 7.5/10 for the food taste itself. I will surely recommend my friends to give the Japanese Buffet Dinner at Corus Hotel a try.
The restaurant seats up to 80 persons and has tatami rooms available for those who wish to dine in private.
Open daily from 12.00 noon to 2.30 pm for lunch and from 6.30 pm to 10.00 pm for dinner.
