Live Life To The Fullest
When I visit a friends page on Facebook, this is the most commonly or overly used phrase that they worship, Live Life To The Fullest. Even me myself have been quoting that, but what is the actual definition of that phrase?
How do you define fullest? Have someone actually lived life until the highest capacity? Or even close to it? Everyone uses this phrase blindly without actually analysing it.
When I was in Palembang Indonesia a couple of weeks back, I realised their level of life over there is so low in terms of Wealth and Materials but when it came to self-satisfaction and happiness, they probably hit the charts way up. Then I started pondering about my life way back here in Kuala Lumpur, I earn a comfortable income (most of the time I know I deserve more and have been giving in to comfort), but am I really happy with how my time is being spent?
Waking up every morning at 5.30am, leaving the house at 6.30, only to reach office on time at 9am, work till 7-8pm every single weekday, reaching back home again at nearly 10pm, having dinner at 11pm, sleeping at 1am, only to wake up again at 5.30 in the morning the next day. Is this living life to the fullest? One thing for sure is that I’m occupied all around the clock to earn that income, but is it worthwhile?
What happened to the times when I just laid in the fields looking at the clear blue sky, walking none stop and wondering later where I am, enjoying the sound of the wind outside while the birds are chirping, sitting hours on the keyboard composing musics that didn’t make sense, reading a book and completing it, going to the beta level of mind where I’ve created an endless world, some call this meditation. Looking at my life now, I would rather be in the places of the people that I saw in Palembang, no matter how poor they were, how much they had to work to just make a buck, they always wear a happy smile.
It is the poor who is actually living to the fullest because they have all the time to wonder about life, instead of forgeting about it by occupying oneself with a daily routine job.
One of my life long dreams is to spend a few months with the Tibetan monks and leave everything away, probably that way I’ll be able to understand what really Living Life To The Fullest defines as. With that I better end my rantings with some photographs that I took with some memorably people from all around the world.

Photo taken with some locals at Palembang Indonesia. They insisted that we took this photo with them and started singing hindi songs. Do I look like a Bollywood star?

Reading your post makes me ponder too,
but i think for most of us that’s the target in life,to live it to the fullest,
it also depends on what kind of life you want, what kind of job you choose and where you are living.
Looking at your photos and where you have been to,
i guess you’re already in a journey to live a full life.
Nice meeting you.
@Thomas, Thanks for the comment bro. Frankly I’m no where near the peak of life, a lot of things to venture into and explore. We’ll see what happens.
