MATTA FAIR Kuala Lumpur, August 2011

Matta Fair Kuala Lumpur that is going to be held at the same location, Putra World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (PWTC) from the 12th till the 14th August 2011. The Matta Fair in Kuala Lumpur will be the biggest Matta Fair that is being held here in Malaysia. Similarly, there will be the Matta Fair held in other states in Malaysia too, below is the full listing.

Do have a look at my previous post on March Matta Fair 2011 that was held early this year to give you a clear idea on what to expect.
The roads and parking lots are going to be super full on this Matta Fair in August so I would recommend that you use the public transport to get there. The KTMB (Keratapi Tanah Melayu Berhad), or simply the KTM Train would be a wise choice. I will be using this train from the Klang station and stop at the PWTC Station. It is then roughly 10 minutes walk away to the Matta Fair main halls at PWTC. Alternatively, you can also use the LRT Train services. You would need to stop at the Masjed Jamik station and change trains to the Star LRT line and head on to the PWTC Star LRT Station. From the PWTC Station, it’s only a 5 minutes walk away to the main event halls.
Food and Drinks are going to be costly at Putra World Trade Centre, so I would recommend that you walk across the road to The Mall where you’ll have access to McDonalds, KFC, and many other stalls. The food court itself would be a good idea, not only cheaper in price, but you will be away from the crowd.
The Matta Fair Kuala Lumpur this year is held during the Ramadhan fasting month, so do note a few things. Food outlets is going to be super packed during the break fast around 6.30pm-8.30pm, do plan your meal times properly. This would also be a great time for you to be in the Matta Fair itself as most of the muslims would be away to break fast, lesser crowd in the Hall area. The tag counters will be closed between 7.00 – 7.30 pm so do get your tags earlier. For those visitors who has the EON Matta Fair Credit Card, you will be given free access to the August Matta Fair 2011.
The Matta Fair 2011 is broken in 4 halls. Hall 1 and Hall 2 is assigned as International Travel, for those who are looking travels to Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Australia etc. Hall 3 is allocated for Domestic Travel, where you can find all the Cuti Cuti 1Malaysia Packages. Each individual states in Malaysia will showcase their Tourism boards and most of them will be having their own booths. Tourism Selangor, Tourism Sarawak, Tourism Sabah, Tourism Terengganu and of course Tourism Malaysia will all have their booths to promote our local Malaysian Destinations. Hall 4 this year is used for something new, the Wedding and Honeymoon Expo, so the Matta Fair 2011 is also catered for couples who are looking their Honeymoon Packages.
Hotels & Resorts would also be selling their room rates at a special rate, so do go and bring along your bargaining hats. I will be working on that 2 days representing Holiday Villa Hotels & Resorts. Flight companies would also be selling their flight tickets at super low cost, so do bump into them. Big players such as AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and many more would be there. I recommend that you go on any 2 days for the Matta Fair, first day to survey, and second day to purchase.
Apart from the Travel and Tour promotions and packages at the Matta Fair Kuala Lumpur, you can also enjoy the Camera fair where you will be able to get super discounts on Digital and DSLR cameras. Travellers can also purchase their travelling luggages or bags as there will be a few booths on this. Also bring some extra cash for clothings because there will also be branded t-shirts and batiks for sale. You will notice these extra booths as you enter the Main Hall area. The Mall will also be running a huge Expo Ramadan Fair where you will be able to get all your Hari Raya needs.
This season at the Matta Fair in August 2011 at the PWTC, is it expected to bring a crowd of more than 100,000 travel seekers.

Hi Tristthan
Just want to know,
can i get flight ticket with great discount during Matta Fair?
Never been experienced at Matta Fair.
TQ
@Raini Yes, the majoy airline companies in malaysia, especially AirAsia, FireFly and Malaysian Airlines will be there offering great discounts for flights.
@Veron Technically both the fair will offer the same discounts, so you should go to the Perak one since it’s nearer to you.
MATTA seems to be only interested in getting as much revenue from the fair and leaves the public to the mercy of these tour operators and travel agents. I had my tour cancelled by a reputable Travel Agent after 1 week before departure despite booking 6 months ahead. Had to pay more for a shorter tour with an alternate travel agent.
