Photo Of The Day: Victory Monument Bangkok, Thailand

Just like in Malaysia, our Tugu Negara is one of the greatest monument that we have. In Bangkok, Thailand, their monument is known as the Victory Monument.

The Victory Monument is a large military monument located in the Ratchathewi district, northeast of central Bangkok. This monument is located on a roundabout and I took this photo from the BTS Skytrain travelling to our hotel. BTS stands for Bangkok Mass Transit System and is one of their most convenient way of travelling around Bangkok.

According to wikipedia, the Victory Monument was created in June 1941 to commemorate the Thai victory in the French-Thai war. That was exactly 70 years ago.
