Roadtrip: Sekinchan, Selangor

Our first stop during this Perak and Pahang Roadtrip was Sekinchan, selangor. This location is one of the biggest rice producers in Malaysia. They are also famous for fresh fruits like Mango, water apple (Jambu Air in Malay) and Corn. Might be slightly costly, but you do get a satisfying fruit.

When we got at the Paddy Field area, our friend too us to the inner part of the field. It was freaking huge. It was the bloom season, so the fields were bright green. It was so soothing to the eyes. We being posers decided to take some shots here. Which Turned out to be fantastic.

There was also a shelter for the harvesting machines. They are huge and seem like one of the Transformer creatures.

After that, we stopped at a Coconut seller who served fresh coconut juice. They had an option of chilled or warm coconut. I had to take the cold one as it was a sunny day.

After the photography session, we continued with Lunch. According to our tour guide (Mr Kwang Young, who was a local of this town), the seafood here is very good and affordable. Infact we later found out that it was much cheaper when compared to prices in Kuala Lumpur. We knew that if we were to order, we are going to get the mundane, so we decided to let the expert who knows the place well go for it. Kwang Young ordered a fried fish set, slightly spicy fish dish, a shark soup, a vege (potato leaf) and a crab soy sauce style stir. I’ll let the photos show you how good it was. And when the bill came we were surprised. RM70 for the lot. Thank you Kwang Young who treated us to this wonderful seafood lunch.

We went there on our own, we sourced the location online. It’s more expensive to go with a tour guide, and they will rush you everywhere. You may hire tour guides when you get there. The famous tour guide is TAT, ask any taxi when you get to bangkok and they will be able to take you to their office.
