Sam Poh Buddhist Temple, Cameron Highlands
Sam Poh Buddhist Temple is located at a town called Brinchang in Cameron Highlands. If you have been to the Brinchang Night Market, the Sam Poh Temple is only about 5 minutes drive away. It is located strategically high up a hill which overlooks the Brinchang town. It was built in the year 1972 and it’s also the 4th biggest temple in Malaysia.
In the Sam Poh Buddhist Temple, you’ll get to see a large golder colored statue of Buddha along with other deities. You are requested to remove your shoes before entering the temple. The temple floor is quite cold so you may want to leave your socks on. As you enter, there is 2 main section of the temple. The front area and a back area. You may burn incense sticks as well as lamps there for a small donation. The temple is really well maintained by local residents and monks. There is no entry charges to the Sam Poh Buddhist Temple and they are open daily.
Outside the Sam Poh Buddhist Temple, you’ll see stalls that sell souvenirs.
