Tanjung Harapan North Port, Port Klang
Tanjung Harapan located near North Port in Port Klang is roughly about 20 minutes drive away from Klang town. This is also where you can take the Speed Boats to Pulau Ketam which is famous for seafood. Tanjung Harapan itself have been a location where me and friends would like to chill just to watch the sun go down.
This time, we as a family wanted to do something, and fishing came to our minds. We decided to try this new location that my dad got to know about, it’s a wooden Jetty that was built at Tanjung Harapan for amateur fishers like us. We first had but the baits, which were works called Umpun in Malay. A small amout of this cost RM5. There are also other types of baits such as Octopus and live prawns. To use the Jetty to do our fishing, we had to pay an entrance fees of RM5 per fishing rod, and we are allowed to be there for up to 8 hours. Anything more and we had to top up another RM2.
The Jetty bridge is quite old and you’ll have to be very careful walking on it, especially for overweight people like myself. Fishing is an activity my family loves a lot, my dad for one has bought so many fishing rods to satisfy his fishing pleasure. Fishing is an activity that really test your patience, standing there waiting for a bite can take up to 20 minutes per bite.
What I loved about Tanjung Harapan is that it is one of the good locations at the western coast in Malaysia where you get to see a beautiful sunset. About 20 minutes walk away from this Jetty, you’ll come to a boat structure and you are allowed to climb on this boat at Tanjung Harapan. This is also where night stalls are set up for your dining pleasure.
